The spec, from the LVCC's facility guide
The LVCVA publishes one spec for the lightboxes in the convention center's public areas. In short:
- Print size: 60 × 60 inches.
- Visible area: 58 × 58.75 inches — the frame covers the rest.
- Who can print it: any qualified printer.
- Where it goes: the LVCVA Sign Shop, 3150 Paradise Rd, labelled with the show name and dates.
- When: at least 5 business days in advance.
- Who installs it: the Sign Shop inserts the graphic and removes it.

Designing for the visible area
The frame hides the outer edge of the print, so the artwork has two jobs: fill the full 60 × 60 inches with background, and keep everything that matters inside the 58 × 58.75-inch window, with breathing room. The edge of the frame is never a good place for a logo, a face or a line of text.
The visible area isn't quite square — 58 inches one way, 58.75 the other — so keep a comfortable margin on all four sides instead of designing tight to it. A safe zone a couple of inches inside the visible area on every side keeps the important parts clear whichever way the box reads.
Lightboxes are read in passing, by people walking a concourse between halls. One message, one image, a logo and a short line of text do more than a paragraph. If the graphic points people somewhere — a booth number, a hall, a session — make that the biggest thing on it.
Setting up the file
Build the artwork at 60 × 60 inches, or to scale (for example 30 × 30 inches at half size), with the background filling the whole square. Send a PDF, AI, EPS or SVG with fonts outlined or embedded and images placed at full resolution; layered PSD or high-resolution TIFF files work too. If you draw the visible area as a guide while you design, keep it on a non-printing layer.
Not sure your file is ready? Send what you have. We check every lightbox file against the spec — overall size, the visible area, image resolution and fonts — before the proof goes to you.
How sharp does the image need to be?
It depends on how close people get. Our standard for sharp even up close is 150 pixels per inch at the printed size — for a 60-inch print, an image about 9,000 pixels across. Seen from 3 feet, about 95 pixels per inch is enough, or roughly 5,700 pixels across. Seen only from 8 feet and farther, about 36 pixels per inch holds up — around 2,150 pixels across.
Those figures come from the same one-arcminute rule our quotes use to grade every image at its order size. Vector logos and type stay sharp at any size, so they're the safest way to send the parts people read. And remember that a lit print hides nothing: a soft photo looks softer with light behind it.
Printed for light from behind
A lightbox print is made to be lit from behind, on a film that spreads the light so the whole image glows evenly instead of showing the lamps. Colours look different lit than they do on a monitor or on paper: dark areas can go muddy and pale tints can wash out.
Check the proof with that in mind, keep important text on solid, high-contrast backgrounds, and tell us when you order if a brand colour has to hold. We'll talk it through before anything prints.
Getting it to the Sign Shop
Lightbox graphics go to the LVCVA Sign Shop at 3150 Paradise Rd — the convention center's own address — labelled with your show's name and dates, at least 5 business days in advance. Confirm the exact drop-off date and any extra labelling with your show before you set the order date.
We can deliver the print to the Sign Shop for you, packed and labelled, or you can pick it up at our shop on W Reno Ave and take it in yourself. The Sign Shop inserts it into the lightbox and removes it after the show; ask them what happens to the print afterwards if you want it back.
Planning other graphics at the LVCC — wall clings, glass, floors? The LVCC graphics page covers the venue's rules, and trade show graphics covers your booth.
Ordering lightbox graphics
Send us a request with your show, how many lightboxes, how many different designs, the date the prints must reach the Sign Shop, and your artwork if it's ready. We check each file against the spec, send a proof and confirm the price. You approve the proof and pay, we print, and the prints go to the Sign Shop or to you.
Need the artwork built? Send your logo, the message and any images, and we'll lay it out to the visible area for you to approve. For lightboxes in your own booth or at another venue, send the frame's graphic spec instead — sizes vary — and ask about fabric (SEG) graphics if your frame takes them.
What moves the price
The size is fixed, so the price comes down to the rest of the job:
- How many prints
- How many different designs, each one proofed
- Design help, if the artwork needs building or adapting to the visible area
- Delivery to the LVCVA Sign Shop
- Turnaround
Questions we get
Do you print LVCC lightbox graphics in Las Vegas?
Yes. We print LVCC lightbox graphics to the LVCVA's spec — 60 × 60 inches, with 58 × 58.75 inches visible — at our shop at 4545 W Reno Ave, and can deliver them to the LVCVA Sign Shop. Request a quote with your show and how many you need.
What size are LVCC lightbox graphics?
The print is 60 × 60 inches, and the visible area inside the frame is 58 × 58.75 inches, according to the LVCC Facility Guide (July 2026). Fill the whole 60-inch square with background and keep text and logos well inside the visible area.
Where do LVCC lightbox graphics get delivered?
To the LVCVA Sign Shop at 3150 Paradise Rd, labelled with the show name and dates. We can deliver the print there for you, or you can pick it up from our shop and drop it off yourself.
How early must LVCC lightbox graphics arrive?
At least 5 business days in advance, per the LVCC Facility Guide. Confirm the exact date with your show, then count back from it when you order, leaving time for the proof.
Who installs LVCC lightbox graphics?
The LVCVA Sign Shop inserts the graphics into the lightboxes and removes them. You or your printer deliver the print; the Sign Shop does the rest.
Can I use any printer for LVCC lightboxes?
Yes. The LVCC Facility Guide says any qualified printer can produce lightbox graphics, as long as they're made to the 60 × 60 inch spec and delivered to the Sign Shop on time.
What file do you need for an LVCC lightbox?
A 60 × 60 inch file, or one built to scale, with the background filling the square and everything important inside the 58 × 58.75 inch visible area. Vector PDF, AI, EPS or SVG with fonts outlined is ideal; high-resolution TIFF or PSD files work too.
